Favorite Dr. Seuss Quotes

We all grew up knowing Dr. Seuss and his wonderful books.
We will be recognizing his birthday next week on March 2.
He was born in 1904 and really had some very good words
of wisdom. He conveyed his advice through rhythmic, poetical
prose, loveable characters, and creative illustrations.

I think the adults who read his books aloud enjoy them as much
as the children who are listening to the delightful stories. You can't
help but smile.

There are many lists of some of his quotes--everyone has their
favorites. But I never found references to what books they were
from. So here are some of my favorites, along with the books in
which they appear. Maybe they will bring back some memories
for you!

from Happy Birthday to You

from I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!

from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

from Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!

from Oh The Places You'll Go!

from Oh the Places You'll Go!

from Oh the Places You'll Go!

from Oh the Places You'll Go

from Horton Hears a Who

from Oh, the Places You'll Go!

There are some quotes that are misattributed--
sound like they could be a Seussism but
were actually said by someone else

from Robert Fulghum's True Love (1998)

     from  George Duhamel's  The Heart's Domain (1919)

So Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss.
You were a great motivator.
Thanks for all the life lessons!

Do you like famous quotes?
How about some of my favorite by Winnie the Pooh?
